Addiction Counsellors of Ireland (ACI), originally formed in **Apply
on the website**, is the professional accrediting body representing
Addiction Counsellors in Ireland.
ACI currently has a membership of more than *
pre-accredited members, accredited members, and accredited Clinical
Supervisors. ACI membership is designed to ensure that accredited
members meet a high standard of competence in clinical practice. All
ACI members have an ethical responsibility to undertake Continuing
Professional Development (CPD). CPD ensures that members maintain and
develop their competence and continue to practice safely and
effectively.
ACI fully supports the Department of Health and CORU in creating a
framework for regulating the profession of counselling and
psychotherapy.
ACI IS LOOKING FOR AN ENTHUSIASTIC AND MOTIVATED INDIVIDUAL TO JOIN
OUR TEAM.
THE ROLE OF THE COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER IS TO SUPPORT THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE STRATEGIC PLAN **APPLY ON THE WEBSITE**, WHICH
MEETS THE OVERALL STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES OF THE ORGANISATION.
THE POSITION IS OFFERED ON A ONE YEAR ROLLING CONTRACT, SUBJECT TO
FUNDING.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
It was agreed that the primary needs of the organisation are:
* To develop and update the content of ACI website and ensure content
is relevant, timely and up to date.
* Develop and maintain a communications and events calendar.
* To set up and develop social media platforms for improved
communications to members and external stakeholders.
* Ensure all communication material is consistent and of the highest
quality.
* To work on a communications plan for *, in
conjunction with the Communications Committee.
* The role may evolve going forward, as needs and demands are
identified, with opportunities for progression in the role.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
* Relevant qualification and experience in communications & digital
marketing.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to all levels
ie. Board, members, public and other key stakeholders.
* Ability to provide monthly progress reports to the Board.
* Practical experience in communications (social media/content
creation etc).
* Ability to develop and maintain relationships with external
stakeholders.
* Experience in running online events.
* Excellent writing and research skills, with a proven ability to
write and edit highly engaging copy, across communication platforms.
* Personal initiative, proven ability to work under own direction.
DESIRABLE (NOT ESSENTIAL)
* A level of knowledge around addiction/substance misuse/social
inclusion
